Right. For those who were unable to join us for the pick-up game yesterday evening, do not fret. You didn't miss the game. Due to a highly technical lighting issue (no one turned them on), we were unable to play. We were however, able to hang out, eat some food and then head to bar, which is exactly what we did.
Then came another shock....children....in....the....bar....what? Well, we stuck around for a bit, because we were there earlier than usual. Once the kids left, they let us have at their buffet that they left behind, so it was free quesadillas and chicken strips for everyone!
It seems that our patronage has lead to some improvements in the bar, they have new tables now, they are much better for mingling than the cafeteria style tables of seasons past. Although now they want to put table cloths on them before we flip cup - who do you think paid for these tables? WAKA did, one flipped cup at a time. :)
The usual shenanigans ensued after that...
- Flip Cup: Summer Herrmann won with Tiffany Billings (aka, me) coming in Second. In case you didn't know, coming in second in Flip Cup is not the place to be...the winner of the challenge gets to pick a song that you have to sing for karaoke - I had to sing Loser by Beck.
- Karaoke: Um, I forgot what everyone sang, but I don' t think you want a recap of that anyway. :-P
- Noticeably absent was beer pong.
Also absent were a lot of new faces that we saw at the field...I am guessing that they either:
- Became lost on the way to the bar.
- Saw children at the bar and left.
- Were abducted by aliens.
In any case we hope to see everyone out at the field and the bar next week. There is still time to sign your friends up. Let's have a great season!
